The film is a compilation of footages shot between 1900 and 1920 by the documentary maker Luca Comerio. Sequences of a railway journey through the Alps, scenes from an Italian expedition to the South Pole, scenes of Italian missionaries in Africa and Russian soldiers at the border with Iran and scenes of the daily life in India, Africa, Tangeri, scenes of a big game and images of the First World War.
