Nadia et les hippopotames

by Dominique Cabrera

December 1995. France is paralysed by the transportation strikes. Nadia, a young woman, survives on her limited unemployment benefits. She has been a mother for the last six months, raising Christopher all on her own. One day, while watching the news about the rail-road strike at the Austerlitz station, she thinks she sees her child's father and decides to find him. That night, some of the workers, Jean-Paul, Serge and Claire, offer to accompany her around the picket lines. It will be a night of encounters and wanderings, during which the revolts and desires of each of the characters will manage, once, to be expressed.
