Ken Park

The unsettling lives of a group of teenagers from California. The film opens with the suicide of Ken Park, who shoots himself in the head with a handgun to avoid becoming a father. Claude fends off physical and emotional abuse from his alcoholic father, who detests him for being insufficiently masculine. Peaches' father, an extremely religious man, catches her and her boyfriend on her bed about to have sex. He beats the boy and savagely disciplines her, forcing her to participate in a quasi-incestuous wedding ritual with him. Tate is an unstable and sadistic adolescent living with his grandparents. He eventually murders them in their bed. Shawn has an ongoing sexual relationship with his girlfriend's mother. Screenplay by Harmony Korine.
