Rcheuli

by Michail Kalatozishvili

Dshua, a farmer who respects traditions, lives with his wife and his 11 years old kid, Gega. While bringing to town some ritual offers, he witnesses the cruelty and fierceness of the revolutionalists. Back to his village, a counter-revolutionary group tries to convince him to join them, but the farmer denies any commitment: he only wants to live on his land, as he has always been doing. He tells to his wife and his child to not let anyone enter their farm, but Gega gets involved and his disobedience will lead to a tragic ending. The film is a cinematographic adaptation of the Corsican short story by Prosper, Mérimèe Mateo Falcone (1829).
